Newspaper delivery process changes
Your newspaper is coming to you a little differently this week, and for the coming weeks. The COVID-19 virus forced some changes in the delivery process.
Usually your newspaper is printed in Garrison and delivered to the county post office for the best possible rate.
“Since we wanted to protect our drivers who faithfully deliver your newspaper to post offices and counter sale locations throughout the region, we reached out to postal officials about our concerns,” said Mike Gackle, president of BHG Inc., parent company of New Town News and Mountrail County Record. The drivers log more than 1,500 miles a week delivering newspapers and shoppers in west-central North Dakota.
“We deliver to the local post offices to get the best postal rate,” he explained. “We’re grateful the post officials recognized our concerns and are helping us out.”
Newspapers will now be printed in Garrison and mailed from the Garrison post office at the lowest available rate.
