New teachers introduce themselves

By Jerry W. Kram
Robert Powers
Robert Powers grew up in Lewiston, Maine. After a four year tour as a Navy Musician in Guam and Italy, Mr. Powers began his teaching career. He has taught 6-12 grade English in several International schools, including Tashkent International where he met his wife.
This year we like to focus on reading comprehension and the standards that are connected to this vital skill. Having the student work through the writing process in each written composition is also a department goal.
Mr. Powers has played saxophone professionally for a number of years. He also enjoys studying the history of American film including silent movies.
