Never Forget
Traditional Songs of the Upper Missouri were celebrated at the Earth Lodge Village Friday. But the occasion was also a solemn one as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women were remembered by their friends and family, and a symbolic red dress was blessed in their memory.
The evening began with a welcome by Charlie Moran who introduced Suzy Paulson and Mellissa Brady who spoke about the horrendous toll violence was taking on Native American
communities, and especially on women. They also each sang a woman’s song in memory of the lost loved ones in the communities.
