Last minute decsions could have impact on ‘10 election
Many polled unsure of how they’ll vote
North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven appears certain to be North Dakota’s newest U.S. Senator, and a host of incumbent office holders look to be winners in the 2010 General Election, according to the latest Prairie Poll.
That includes a nod for U.S. Rep. Earl Pomeroy, who is in a tight race with Rick Berg.
Another recent poll gave Berg a slight edge over Pomeroy.
But the Prairie Poll shows a large number of voters have yet to make up heir minds on many races.
If the election were held today, voters polled in 11 communities around the state said they would choose Pomeroy, 43.5 percent to Berg’s 33.6 percent -- but nearly 23 percent don’t know yet who they will vote for.
Nearly as many voters are still undecided in the race between Hoeven and challenger Tracy Potter, who are vying for the Senate seat being abandoned by longtime Democratic Sen. Byron Dorgan.
