J.C. Java brings a wake up to Main Street

By Jerry W. Kram

Joy Chapin always wanted a business on Main Street in New Town. But with the boom came high rents and few opportunities to find an empty building, so she started her coffee shop J.C. Java in Four Bears instead.

Well times have changed, and Chapin took advantage to move J.C. Java into the building that once housed the tribal 477 program, just next door to the New Town News. The business opened Monday to a steady stream of customers looking for a shot of caffeine or a breakfast or lunch panini.

"It was always my intention to open in New Town," Chapin said. "But there was a space problem. So I was really blessed when this space became available."
