Hottest Christian bands in the nation to rock the reservation

Not only are four of the biggest names in Christian rock music today appearing on stage in an unprecedented concert in New Town Feb. 16, but it will be the first time these bands will appear on an Indian reservation together.
The three-hour show is being held in the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge event center and Steve Walker, the local coordinator for the event, is promising a great show.
The main band, Kutless, will be joined by Stellar Kart, Disciple and Esterlyn, all world-stage rock bands that are currently on tour across the northern tier of the United States.
“We’re putting on this concert to give the youth a relevant message of hope,” Walker said. “If we would have put these bands in the Fargodome, they would sell out.”
According to Walker, Kutless plays a straight-ahead rock style, much like Canadian rock band Nickelback. Disciple is a group of hard rockers, Stellar Kart plays a pop-punk fusion style and Esterlyn is complete Indi rock.
The concert is free and capacity will be 2,000, but Walker said there are already people coming from as far away as Fargo, Billings and Bozeman to see these groups on stage. Normally, tickets to see these bands would sell for $25 to $35 each.
“They called us and said they would love to come to North Dakota,” Walker said. “This is the first event on a reservation and it’s the first of its kind for this area.”
An agency called Pulse is promoting the concert. Nick Hall, who is partially responsible for bringing these bands together, wasn’t immediately available for comment.
The show will begin at 6 p.m., and conclude about 9 p.m. on President’s Day. There is no school that day and Walker said it was planned that way in order to accommodate the kids who may want to see this show.
