Here to there and back again

Tigirlily returns to North Dakota for concert
By Jerry W. Kram
A lot of the local fans know them by their first names. Why shouldn’t they? After all, Krista and Kendra Slaubaugh grew up just on the other side of Lake Sakakawea and were fixtures at nearly every opportunity to perform their vocal harmonies as the group Tigirlily.
From singing the national anthem at basketball tournaments to concerts and festivals, Tigirlily created a local fanbase that allowed them two years ago to move to Nashville and try to make a full time living making the music they love. So far it has been working out pretty well. Tigirlily will be opening for LoCash at the 4 Bears Event Center on Feb. 29.
“It has been crazy,” said Kendra. “We had toured almost the entire state of North Dakota and then two years ago moved to Nashville. We’ve gotten to play in in New York and Texas. We’ve been able to make music our career for the last seven years. When we started we never thought it would become our career, we just did it because we loved it.”
This past year the duo has opened for major country acts in New York and across the midwest including shows in Illinois, Minnesota, and South Dakota. They have toured with Big and Rich, Leanne Rimes, and Justin Moore.
