"We don’t want to leave any groups out of this plan," said James Johns, Police chief, at the June meeting of community groups and individuals focused on developing a solid emergency plan for New Town.
Johns works on the project in conjunction with city groups including Nueta, Hidatsa Sahnish College. The group adopted their name as CERT. Community Emergency Response Team.
"This is not going to happen overnight, but we want to make sure everyone is safe," Keith Smith, NHS College security co-coordinator said. Andy Sanchez serves as security co-coordinator for NHS College.
While the college is working on its individual emergency plan, it also hosted the meeting and coordinates its efforts with the New Town Police Department, and other emergency agencies.
