Lakeside Center receives donation for new bus
The Lakeside Community Living Center in New Town received a generous donation of $50,000 from Doris Ogden of Minot, ND formerly of Stanley in loving memory of her husband Ross (Sonny) Ogden.
The Center was formerly operated by the Good Samaritan Society, which turned over the facility to The New Town Health Support Corporation in September.
Jeanine Uran, manager of Lakeside Community Living Center visited with her aunt, Doris Ogden, in August and explained that Good Samaritan Society no longer wanted to own the New Town center. The New Town Health Support Corporation would starting out with nothing. Ogden told Uran to come back and talk to her once the transition was made.
The New Town Health Support Corporation held a fund raiser at the civic center before the transfer. Uran said the support from the community was wonderful. However, Good Samaritan Society removed all of their computers and other equipment from the center and the community’s donations and memorials were used to purchase equipment and pay the center’s bills.
