Four Bears expansion breaks ground

Prayers were said, coals were buried and a few shovelfuls of dirt were moved to mark the beginning of an expansion of the Four Bears Casino and Lodge.
Byron Brady help dedicate the expansion with a traditional ceremony and blessed the site with river water and cedar coals. He reminisced about how there was once just a small motel at the site in Four Bears that had fallen into disrepair.
“Now we have such a grand and wonderful building here,” Brady said. “The new addition will have such a wonderful view of our sacred river.”
The Mandaree Drum group played and sang for the ceremony.
