Foreman honored in Legion Post name change

By Edna Sailor

When you walk down the street in front of the Legion Club these days, you may or may not have noticed the updated sign that now reads, American Legion Beck-Sherven-Foreman, Post 290

The name Foreman has now been added. The reason for the change on the sign is that Post members recently discussed and voted to add Foreman to its name. The new moniker represents a fallen comrade, Roger Foreman, a Vietnam Veteran.

The Post 290 members felt it addition is important.

"I think it is important that we always remember what our veterans did for our country and honor them when we can," Jene Hasby, Post 290 Adjutant, said.

Foreman’s family members feel the same.

"I think this is a great way to honor my brother’s service to our country,"

That is the opinion of Dale Foreman, Roger Foreman’s brother, who makes his home in Watford City now. He and his sister Ellen fully support the American Legion Post 290 change to add his brother’s name.
