Taxable sales and purchases in Mountrail County and western North Daktoa continue increasing dramatically and tax commissioner Cory Fong says a lot of it has to do with oil activities, but there are other factors as well.
In fact, Fong said oil activity is driving other “spin-off” industry to increase its taxable sales and purchases as well, making the overall economy much more robust than anyone had earlier predicted.
“A lot of it is oil and I think this is a trend for western communities, at least for the rest of this year,” Fong said. “And major construction is going to ad to this in Williston, Stanley and New Town.”
