Feeling the pulse of history

By Jerry W. Kram

Those who do not know history are condemned to repeat it, goes the old saying. The problem with learning history for some is that they think it something confined to dusty old books that are incredibly dull. Edwin Loe Elementary livened up it the history books this week by turning its cafeteria into a living history museum where the Positive Behavior Student Ambassadors shared what they had learned about great Civil Rights leaders of the past.

Fifteen students selected eight leaders from the past that they wanted to bring to life for the their fellow students and parents who came to visit the "museum" for the afternoon. Kara Four Bear, assistant principal of the school said the idea was to let students take things they learned in the classroom and share them with the wider world.
