Eagles Loop lots go on sale in August

By Jerry W. Kram

Lots in the Eagles Loop subdivision will be sold to the public in August.

The development on Sand Hill in New Town has been a thorn in the side of the city council since 2011. The council is building four units of employee housing on the site and will reserve another few lots for its future use. The other 30 or so lots will be made available to the public.

Bids can be submitted to the New Town Auditor’s Office until August 14. There are minimum bids listed for the lots based on square footage. There are 22 7,000 sq. ft. lots with a minimum bid of $30,000. Six 11,000 sq. ft. lots are listed for $40,000. Three large corner lots will have a minimum bid of $70,000. All of the lots have curb, water, sewer, electricity and fiber optic utilities available.

If there are multiple bids on individual lots, those lots will be sold by oral bidding. A maximum of eight lots can be purchased by a single entity. Winning bidders must put 30 percent down for the lots and pay the remainder within 30 days.
