Eagles bring home state runner up trophy
By Jerry W. Kram
A group of sophomores were the first New Town Eagles to make it to the state Drama Tournament back in 2017. This year, as seniors, they returned and came home with the second place trophy.
This year’s team consists of eleven students: Seniors Brenden Kerzmann, Lauren Briggs, Amanda Anthony, Sydney Lindberg, Kiana Kruger, Samuel Durpis; Juniors Dion Bolman, Qwyntin Alcon, Keishawn Johnson, Collin Hale, and Freshman Camron White Owl. Qwyntin Alcon received a superior actor rating, which is like making an all state team.
“I had five seniors who have been with me ever since I became a coach here four years ago,” said NTHS Drama Coarch Nancy Reimers. “This time the kids were hungry and they knew what they had to do. I cannot believe they made second. That just floored me.”
