Eagles actors bring home regional gold

The New Town Eagles have a proud tradition of filling trophy cases with North Dakota High School Activities Association awards. A new trophy will be added to that case as the Eagles Drama program has brought home its first regional championship.
On November 6th at the Region 9 One Act Play Competition in Watford City, the NTHS Drama Team made school history by being the first ever team to bring home the championship trophy. In addition, all 11 of the students on the team received a superior acting award as an ensemble. That means they all were were superior as a group. The award is comparable to the All Tournament Team in basketball.
This year’s team consists of eleven students: Seniors Brenden Kerzmann, Lauren Briggs, Amanda Anthony, Sydney Lindberg, Kiana Kruger, Samuel Durpis; Juniors Dion Bolman, Qwyntin Alcon, Keishawn Johnson, Collin Hale, and Freshman Camron White Owl.
Drama Coach Nancy Reimer was awarded the Director of the Year. The team is now preparing for the state competition on November 25th and 26th in Jamestown. This will be the second time in the school history has the drama team qualified for state the last being in 2018.
