Denver company donates $10,000 to Boys and Girls Club By MARVIN BAKER An oil and gas exploration company doing business for the first time in North Dakota in 17 years, presented a check the Three Affiliated Tribes Boys and Girls Club Monday afternoon for $10,000. Questar Corp. communications specialist Emily Kelley and Rocky Mountain General Manager Vincent Rigatti flew into Minot from Denver, then drove to New Town to make the donation. "This is our first entrance into North Dakota in quite a few years and we like to support the communities we work in," Rigatti said. "We heard about the club from (TAT Chairman) Marcus (Wells), and we received a letter." Rigatti suggested the money be used as the organization sees fit. Each community on the Fort Berthold Reservation has a local club. In fact, there are 1,187 club members in the six units on the reservation. They include 443 members in New Town, 218 members in Parshall, 153 members in Mandaree, 144 members in White Shield, 144 members in Four Bears and 85 members in Twin Buttes. "We’re trying to build up our trust account," said Boys and Girls Club Director El Marie Conklin. "A lot of what the organization does is direct service to the kids." Following a short ceremony and a snack in the Northern Lights Community Center where the club is headquartered, Kelley and Rigatti were given a tour by club unit director Kirsten Morsette.
