Council awards bid on lagoon project

New Town City Council members met in special session last Wednesday morning to award a bid for municipal wastewater treatment improvements.
Baranko Bros. Inc., Dickinson, was awarded the $423,647 bid to make the necessary improvements to New Town’s wastewater facility. Baranko was one of four area contractors submitting bids for the job.
According to city engineer Steve Ike, Baranko’s bid was approximately $172,000 lower than the Gary Morlock Construction bid, which came in at $595,365. The others submitting bids were Martin Construction and Industrial Contract Services Inc.
Ike’s engineer estimate was approximately $600,000.
