Council appoints Uran mayor
Dan Uran has been appointed mayor of New Town, replacing Clare Aubol who died March 30.
Uran, the president of the New Town City Council since January, conducted Wednesday’s meeting. He was nominated by Darrel Salter to complete Aubol’s term which expires in 2010.
That left Uran’s president position open and Salter was picked to fill that term until the next election. Gerald Odegard was then chosen to fill Salter’s term as vice president.
