Commissioner resigns

Commissioner resigns

By STU MERRY

There will be two new faces on the board of the McLean County Commissioners.
In the General Election, challenger Barry Suydam ousted incumbent and long-time commissioner Ron Krebsbach.
This past Thursday, Auditor Les Korgel received an email from Julie Hudson Schenfisch stating she is tendering her resignation. The resignation is effective immediately. Hudson Schenfisch is relocating out of the county.
The resignation was expected, county officials said.
In the email, Hudson Schenfisch said when first elected to the commission she had many goals.
“I know that together we have accomplished many of them,” she said.
She closed, saying that it is with great regret that she must resign her position.
Sharing her feelings for serving the residents of McLean County, not only as commissioner, but also as an extension agent for the county, Hudson Schenfisch said she’s loved it, but that it’s time for someone else to carry out the voters’ wishes.
