City awards Northern Improvement street bid

A calculation mistake of more than $82,000 has changed the company that will soon be paving several New Town streets.
Northern Improvement Co., Dickinson, has been awarded the street improvement projectthat will have two phases and cost approximately $795,000.
According to New Town city attorney Wade Enget, four bids were opened Feb. 18 with Keller Paving and Landscaping, Minot, the apparent low bidder ahead of Northern, Bechtold Paving, Minot and Minot Paving.
Following the Feb. 18 city council meeting, city engineer Steve Ike discovered a computation error in Keller’s bid, causing Northern Improvement to become the low bidder. However,
