Business Booms in New Town

By Jerry W. Kram
Perhaps the biggest story in New Town this year has been all the small stories. Ribbon cuttings for new businesses are bread and butter for any small town paper, and this year has provided an entire bakery’s worth of headlines through the year.
New Town has a number of new places to fill up that empty spot after a hard day on the Lake. Pizza Pie on the Fly opened early this year and will deliver hot and fresh Italian goodness anywhere within 10 miles of New Town. If you’re looking for something in a bun, New Town has a new Subway sandwich shop located in the new strip mall near Teddys Residential Inn. Meat, cheese, an array of veggies and the bread of your choice are waiting. And if you are in more of a mood for a sit-down meal with a view, the new Edgewater Country Club provides great food with a beautiful overlook of the golf course and Lake Sakakawea.
Along with Subway, two more businesses have taken root in the strip mall, Ani Plus Massage therapy and Lady Nails nail salon, to make you feel and look as good as possible. Speaking of looking good, Jay Z’, located in the old Cenex station on Main Street, has a wide assortment of western wear for all budgets. The store also is also the only outlet for FR clothing for industry between Minot and Williston.
