New Town boy to meet LaBron James
Paul Staples wondered what was going on as a troop of people, including his family trooped into the gymnasium as basketball practice ended. The 16 year old freshman at New Town High School was about to find out that, sometimes, dreams do come true.
TAT Boys, Girls Club takes to the runway
In 2001, the Three Affiliated Tribes Boys and Girls Club was officially chartered. A dozen years later, the club has facilities in all six segments of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation and has provided recreational, education and leadership opportunities for hundreds of youth in New Town, Parshall, Four Bears, White Shield, Mandaree and Twin Buttes.

1804 to get major upgrade
A dozen or so concerned citizens were in attendance for a public information meeting at the New Town Civic Center on Nov. 7 to hear about the North Dakota Department of Transportation’s plans to replace about 2.5 miles of North Dakota Highway 1804 stretching from the junction of North Dakota Highway 23 to the planned truck bypass to the north.
