For more than 85 years, the United Prairie cooperative has served this area, first as the Farmers Union Cooperative organized in old Sanish in 1929, which moved to New Town as Lake Sakakawea claimed the community in the early 1950s.
Construction season fast approaching
It is going to be a long summer for residents of New Town and people trying to get from here to there on North Dakota Highway 23 as the New Town City Council accepted a number of bids for projects and gave its OK for a state project to totally replace Main Street at a special council meeting on March 31.

Michigan man finds future in ranching
Cory Osborn was still living in Michigan when he heard about jobs in North Dakota from his grandparents, Ron and Joyce Hanson who ranch near New Town. Cory’s Mother, sister and brother moved here before Cory did and found work.
