Even though the number has once again been increased, officials are expecting the fifth annual Bite the Ice On the Hook Ice Fishing Tournament ticket sales to be as brisk as the February wind.
Tickets went on sale Wednesday and Parshall Promoters spokesperson Kristin Jaeger is advising those interested in the popular winter fishing derby to get their tickets quickly because this event is getting more popular every year, an event that some say is beginning to rival the longtime Devils Lake fishing derby. Since its inception in 2007 as a local fishing tournament, Bite the Ice is now drawing anglers from across western North Dakota.
Jaeger believes the 2011 derby will sell out as fast as last year’s, even though the number of tickets has been bumped from 750 to 800. And, when the tickets are gone, no adjustments will be made until perhaps, the 2012 event.
