Students of the White Shield School expressed their talents in the White Shield Art Show.

Students from the high school art department and the 9th grade study hall put forth their best efforts in developing a showcase of their art skills.

According to art instructor Patricia Marquard, The mid-year collection of student work was varied on the arrangement of projects with woodworking skills, stained glass cut mosaics and water color techniques. She said the students also work with Gesso and acrylic paint, decorated screening on frames, and oil paints used on stretched canvases.

This year’s topics in the art classes included authors and literature and the correlation between human expression in art and music, Marquard said.

"Several drawings in the show were about favorite characters in literature," she said.

High school teachers served as judges and received the criteria for judging from the art instructor. The criteria were high quality in craftsmanship and creative expression.
