Weidner, Ator step down
By Jerry W. Kram
Some familiar faces will be missing when Parshall schools resume classes next fall as the Parshall School Board accepted four resignations at a special meeting.
Parshall Superintendent John Weidner, Athletic Director Nick Ator, Kristin Ator and Amber Young Bird submitted their resignations effect July 1 of this year.
Nick Ator resigned to become the principle at Divide County High School in Crosby. Kristin Ator will teach third grade in Crosby. Young Bird will be taking a vice-principal position in another school district and Weidner said he is moving on to a larger school district. Young Bird and Weidner did not identify the school districts they will be moving on to.
Parshall School Board President Michelle Billadeau said she was voting to accept the resignations reluctantly and wished the departing personnel the best of luck. She explained that the board had to vote of the board was needed because the three teachers has signed contracts for the next school year after contract negotiations with Parshall Education Association were completed early. The teachers need board approval to be released from those contracts. Weidner’s resignation needed to be approved because he is on a continuing contract.
