Transload facility planned near Plaza

By Edna Sailor

This week Dakota Gold Transfer-Plaza, LLC announced the company plans to develop a crude oil transload facility just outside the city of the small, southeastern, Mountrail County community of Plaza, ND. Dakota Gold Transfer-Plaza LLC was formed in 2014 to focus on developing and operating a crude oil marketing hub in Mountrail County. The terminal will provide refiners, marketers and producers with new options for reaching markets across the United States and Canada via rail and pipeline. Dakota Gold is a joint venture between its president and CEO, Cody Moe and the Trailstone Group.

"We are excited about the economic benefits that development of the Plaza Terminal will provide to the local economies in Mountrail and nearby counties," Moe said. "We continue to work closely with local leaders and officials to forge strong, positive relationships."

Relationship building included a community wide Pig Roast dinner served at the community Hall in Plaza on June 23rd of this year. Local residents were welcomed to the event where Dakota Gold and other officials presented information to them. A member of the Denver based public relations firm Ten/10, Casey Nikoloric, attended the event. She felt very positive about the community feedback she experienced.
