Stimulus and economic plan viewed as ineffective
Despite being somewhat content with their own financial situations, North Dakotans are greatly concerned about the national economy and the country’s $1.3 trillion deficit.
Some 70 percent of those responding to the latest North Dakota Prairie Poll described themselves as “greatly concerned” with the economy and the level federal spending.
And they don’t believe the Obama administrations stimulus plan or its economic plan are having much success in bringing the country out of economic doldrums.
In mid October, 11 community newspapers in the state surveyed 550 residents of their communities to gauge feelings about the economy.
Just 5 percent of those responding said they are not concerned about the economy and the deficit, while 25 percent are mildly concerned and 70 percent greatly concerned.
