Earlier this week, a team of individuals spent an entire day in Parshall in an special effort to attract people to the Parshall/Lucky Mound Veterans Memorial Hall to fill out forms for 2020 national Census.
The team members who were at the table with laptops and questionnaires are all MHA Nation tribal members and part of the ‘Complete Count Committee.’
The committee is focused on the goal of getting all Native Americans to complete the census this year. The team in Parshall were able to complete more than 60 households in the afternoon. Braedyn Taft is one of the team members who was part of the effort in Parshall. She was happy to see the nice turnout. Taft said every person counted is important and is eager to get more events like the one on Tuesday to encourage people to complete the census.
“It was a great turnout and we plan to hold more events in the future to get every person counted across every segment on MHA Nation,” said Taft.
Cheryl Kary was also present in Parshall with Taft and Cheyenne Brady, Tavares Fimbres and Gabrielle Wilkinson who are employees of MHA Nation. The team is trained in the process of census tabulation and recording.
