Semi crash damages Johnson Corners school

Semi crash damages Johnson Corners school
An accident on North Dakota Highway 73 could have been much worse as a semi truck crashed into the Johnson Corners Christian Academy about noon on Monday, Sept. 17. A 65 year old Dickinson woman was killed in the accident.
Althea Mandan, Dickinson, was traveling south on North Dakota Highway 23 in a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix when she apparently failed to yield to oncoming traffic on Highway 73. Jason Owen, 36, of Watford City was traveling west in a Power Fuels2012 Kenworth truck. The truck collided with Mandan’s car at the intersection and both vehicles ran off the road.
The Kenworth continued through the ditch and went through a chain link fence and entered the Johnsons Corner Christian Academy parking lot. It hit a pickup owned by one of the student. The semi pushed the pickup into the school building and then ran into the school itself.
