Sanderson receives historic honor
By Edna Sailor
Sidney Sanderson distinguished herself recently by achieving an historic award. Sanderson is the first woman and only the sixth recipient ever from Parshall High School to earn the FFA American Degree. She accepted her award at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 2..
“I am so grateful to the community for helping to fundraise so my family could go with me. It was so cool to be among that group of other people who worked hard to make it to the National level,” she said.
Sanderson says she has always loved agriculture and animals.
“It has always been my passion since I was a little girl. I always preferred being outdoors with my animals. Even though I grew up in Parshall, I took every opportunity to go to the farm and work with agriculture,” she said.
