RTC will meet broadband goals

RTC will meet broadband goals

By Edna Sailor
Maybe some of us still think of Reservation Telephone Cooperative as the “telephone company” but in a changing world it has become so much more. In a world of an ever changing internet and its demand for keeping up with services, and the needs of its customer base, RTC set goals back in 2008 to bring upgraded broadband internet services to every customer in its service area.
Brooks Goodall, Chief Operations Officer at RTC says that “internet is our number one service in today’s world.”
The RTC Build Out has been a daily process all these years as they plowed in the lines one foot at a time. Goodall said the build out will be finished in 2019. The newest addition is steadily happening in the Max Exchange service area which includes the city of Benedict. The old copper lines providing service could not support growing customer needs. Internet speeds are expected to climb even higher in the future so the build out is critical.
