Rodeo finds a home in Parshall

If one was to come up with one word to describe the inaugural Parshall Lucky Mound Outdoor Rodeo, ‘spectacular’ could definitely be one.
On Sunday morning, the rodeo action kicked off in the new outdoor arena for the first time with perfect weather conditions. The energetic voice of event announcer Randy Taylor crackled over the speakers keeping all entertained and in tune to who was performing and the scores of the various competitors.
But the real entertainment was the non-stop spectacular riding and roping down in the arena throughout the day and into the evening. There were more than 400 participants in the Northern Badlands Indian Rodeo Association-sanctioned rodeo. Contestants and fans were from across the nation and some traveled all the way from as Arizona.
