The Peoples Bank and Trust in Parshall presented a check today for $25,000 to the recently established Parshall Area Community Foundation.
“We are pleased to make one of the initial contributions to the Parshall Area Community Foundation,” said Gary Petersen, C.E.O. and Chairman of Peoples Bank and Trust. “We hope the foundation will provide great things for the Parshall community for years to come. Congratulations to the foundation’s board and to all those who had a hand in establishing the foundation.”
“We got a late start this year but thanks to this gift we were able to reach our goal,” said Kristin Jaeger, a member of the PACF advisory board. “It is a great thing. We couldn’t do it without them.”
The Parshall Area Community Foundation was established in November of this year. The purpose of the organization is to raise funds to benefit a variety of charitable and nonprofit projects and programs in the Parshall area. The fund is a permanent financial resource, which means that donations are pooled and invested, and a portion of the earnings are used to support local community projects through annual grants. A volunteer Advisory Committee of local community members will spearhead both the fundraising and the annual allocation of grants.
