Parshall youth foils Snow Queen’s plot
By Jerry W. Kram
If there is one villain North Dakotans should know well, it is the evil Snow Queen who want to freeze the whole world. Fortunately, a brave young lass foiled her plans and freed her best friend from her evil clutches.
That was the plot of the Missoula Children’s Theater production of The Snow Queen. The 50 year old organization does hundreds of productions with school and community groups across the United States to give youth a taste of the theater and all the lessons of putting on a big production in just a week.
Actor-directors Justin Kline and Daniel Boughton rolled into to town on Monday and held auditions, casting nearly 20 Parshall students in parts that varied from prince and princesses to talking animals to robbers who lived in the enchanted forest.
