Parshall Student, teacher headed for Space Camp

By Jerry W. Kram

Lots of us dreamed of being an astronaut growing up. Aaron Fisher, a first year social studies teacher at Parshall High School was no exception. Now, thanks to one of his students, Harley Clemensen, he will have the chance to get a taste of life in space.

Clemensen, the daughter of Kurt and Jamie Clemensen, was chosen to receive a trip to Space Camp in Huntsville, Ala., sponsored by the Northrop Grumman facility in New Town. The company sponsors students to go to Space Camp every year to encourage interest in STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering and math. Clemensen said she has always been interested in what lies above the atmosphere.

"During the summer I always stare up at the sky," Clemensen said. "I want to walk on Mars."
