Parshall student has French adventure
By Jerry W. Kram
It’s a long way from the shores of Lake Sakakawea to the banks of the River Seine in Le Havre, France in more ways than one. An area student is sharing her adventures in a new country through a blog on the Internet.
Kristen Waldock, a graduate of Parshall High School, is making that journey and wants to share her adventure as a student spending a semester abroad in France. Waldock is a junior at North Dakota State University majoring in English and French. She is the daughter of Sarah and Jim Waldock of Parshall.
Sarah Waldock described her daughter as a straight A student at NDSU. Kristen is taking eight classes while she is France. Kristen left for France at the end of August and won’t return until January.
Kristin is writing about her travels and experiences in France on a blog she calls “My Life and Other Stories.” It can be found at http://curiouskristen.blogspot.com/. So far her adventures have included getting on a train headed in the wrong direction and facing the challenges of speaking a new language with people who have used it all of their lives.
