Parshall school seeking bids

Now that spring is around the corner, the Parshall School Board has begun discussing construction projects for the upcoming season.
According to school Supt. Steve Cascaden, the school will start advertising soon for firms to bid the work that is expected to take place this spring and summer.
On the top of the list is a kitchen for the elementary school. In the past couple of years, the kitchen became a real issue when most of it had to be torn apart. Insects were found in the area and upon further discovery, leaking drain pipes under the kitchen sink led to a massive renovation.
Cascaden said the kitchen wasn’t originally part of a master construction plan, but the board has decided it’s in the best interest of the school so construction companies can begin looking for that.
In addition, the board wants to add four classrooms to the west side of the school. This scenario has been discussed and was a portion of a proposed $6 million expansion brought to the public’s attention several months ago.
