Parshall school looks to develop old rodeo grounds
By Jerry W. Kram
The Parshall School Board decided to start the process of developing property it owns to add more teacher housing.
The school district owns the old rodeo grounds in Parshall. The property, at the corner of 4th Street and 7th Avenue, was recently annexed into the city and had water and sewer lines extended to it. The board asked Don Davision, an architect from JLG Architects of Grand Forks, to outline the board’s options for developing the property. Davison said the property would need some prep work, including grading to level it out for development. He presented several scenarios where between 30 and 40 new units could be built on the site.
“The biggest question is the availability of labor,” Davison said. “You could do grading and put in utilities and streets first. That would take a full season. Then the rest of development could take place in stages.”
