Parshall school board members take new seats

Carol Zacher was sworn in as president of the Parshall School Board Monday afternoon in a reorganization ceremony, replacing James Odermann, who chose not to run for re-election. Zacher has been a member of the board for a number of years and becomes the third president of the Parshall School Board in the past three years.
In addition, Michelle Billadeau was sworn in as vice president and with Odermann leaving the board, that left an opening in which Anita Haakenson filled and was also sworn in as the newest board member. Other returning members are Karmon Taft and Ramona Two Shields. Shannon Erie will continue in her capacity as business manager.
A number of other items were discussed during the nearly four-hour meeting with little action being taken. A general fund budget was OK’d for the coming year, a budget that will see a more than $91,000 increase.
