Family Career and Community Leaders of America took their jobs seriously Tuesday during a United Blood Services blood drive held in the Parshall High School gym.
Students, teachers, farmers, business types and industry people took their jobs of donating blood seriously.
High school students Regan Christianson, Madeleinne Zacher, Brock Christianson and Troy Oster greeted donors as they came in, got them checked in and introduced them to United Blood Services staff. The students also escorted people throughout the school.
“We’re using our people skills and we like to do this,” said Brock Christianson. “We take walk-ins and appointments, but United Blood Services handles that because when walk-ins give their information, that’s confidential.”
Christianson said part of the students’ job was to call those donors who made appointments and remind them of the drive taking place. And, if someone was late, they were given a courtesy call. If they couldn’t make it, he said the next appointment would be moved up as there were several time hacks throughout the day that had be adhered to.
