Parshall included in appropriations funding

Parshall included in appropriations funding
President Barack Obama signed into law a comprehensive appropriations bill that includes more than $185 million in federal funding secured by Senators Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan and Congressman Earl Pomeroy that will support numerous projects that are critical to North Dakota’s economy.
One of the projects is $8.4 million for the Parshall Water Supply system. This funding will be used to construct a new water supply system, a new transmission pipeline to convey raw water and a new water treatment facility to provide water to the city of Parshall, Mountrail County Rural Water customers and portions of the Fort Berthold Rural Water System. The city of Parshall’s existing water intake in Lake Sakakawea has been inoperable on three separate occasions because of low water levels.
