Parshall Harvestfest 2015 reinvented

By Edna Sailor

It’s hard to miss the fact that harvest is in full swing in our area. Combines are buzzing along the fields and grain trucks are everywhere delivering their bounty to farms or elevators. The Parshall Promoters are also in full swing with their preparations for the upcoming Harvestfest scheduled for September 13 at the North Park in Parshall. The event is planned from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Harvestfest in its new format is a shorter event this year. In the past the Parshall Promoters held a "Summer Celebration" in June. Due to competing summer activities and vacations, attendance was dropping so the group moved the event to September and re-named it Harvestfest.

"It was a challenge for Promoters to find enough help to organize and staff events for a full day or two. The event wasn’t working out for us. We are reinventing the event once again this year," Kristin Jaeger, Promoters Secretary, said.

The new format will still feature some community favorites.

The music is ready to roll. "Just Diff" will have his equipment on site to entertain community members.
