Parshall FFA students sport blue jackets

Parshall FFA members Tevin Dixon and Justin Johnson will be sporting new blue jackets this year. Dixon and Johnson were awarded the jackets, and FFA ties to go with them, through a grant provided by the North Dakota FFA Foundation. Businesses, FFA chapters, and individuals across the state provide the funds for the grant.
The “Blue Jackets, Bright Futures” grant program uses an application process to choose jacket winners from chapters across the state. While six Parshall students filled out the applications, only two jackets were awarded. Dixon and Johnson received their jackets at the FFA Winter Leadership Conferences in Bismarck.
Greenhand Camp, the first level of the leadership conferences, is put on by North Dakota state oficers, and is designed for freshmen. This year, Mariah Billadeau attended Greenhand Camp, while six Parshall youth attended the next level of the conference, called “212 Degrees”. Brooke Billadeau, Lincoln Christenson, Cody Johnson, Dylan Leingang, Rayessa Odermann, and Tyler Severance participated in 212, learning that it only takes one degree to make water boil. Similarly, one extra bit of effort or practice can make a big difference in the results of your work. Nearly 1,000 North Dakota students dressed in their blue jackets for the conferences.
