North West Link to

host Halloween party

A group of people in Mountrail County concerned about a quality social life and keeping their communities thriving are gearing up a new group called North West Link and are hosting a Halloween party Saturday night at the Scenic 23 east of New Town.

Spokesperson Kristin Jaeger, Parshall, said North West Link actually got started in March when they hosted an event at 4 Bears Casino in which motivational speaker Terry Fleck met with the group.

Tomorrow night’s event will begin at 8 p.m. Costumes are optional, but costume judging will begin at 9 p.m. There will also be Karaoke immediately following the costume contest. Jaeger said it’s important to remember that attendees must be 21 or older and show identification to get in.

Jaeger said she isn’t sure how many people will attend the Halloween party but is optimistic that North West Link will grow as more people become aware of the social network.

"We don’t have a number in mind," Jaeger said. "Hopefully, we’ll fill the place up."

North West Link is actually a group of young people from the area who are interested in getting together with other young people in the area. Sometimes when you live in rural areas, it seems there isn’t a lot to do or a lot of people to do things with, but North West Link is out to prove that neither of these are true.
