New Trooper assigned to area
Colonel James Prochniak, Superintendent of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, announces that Trooper Jake Thompson graduated from the Highway Patrol Academy on Dec. 22. Trooper Thompson has been assigned to the Highway Patrol’s Northwest Region and will be stationed at Stanley. Trooper Thompson has completed 25 weeks of academic training at the North Dakota Highway Patrol Academy in Bismarck. Upon arriving at his assigned post, Trooper Thompson will begin eight weeks of field training which will conclude the end of February.
Trooper Thompson graduated from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and at Ridgewater College with an Associate of Arts degree is Law Enforcement.
Thomson was one of a dozen troopers who celebrated their graduation ceremony at the R.J. Bohn National Guard Armory in Bismarck.
