New principal is a familiar face

Amber Young Bird has left Parshall twice before, and now she is back for the third time.
After graduating from Parshall High School in 2007, she went to Dickinson State University to pursue a career in education. She worked at the Boys and Girls Club in New Town and Parshall during the summers before going back to school in the fall. She returned to teach sixth grade at Parshall Elementary School from 2012-16. After earning a Masters Degree in administration, she left again to be an assistant principal in New Town.
Now she is back again, and is the new High School Principal for the Parshall School District.
“After two years in New Town I thought I was ready to take on a head principal’s position,” Young Bird said. “I wanted to come back home. So here I am.”
