New Principal hired

The Parshall School Board held a special meeting Tuesday to hire a high school principal to replace Mark Grueneich, who is retiring.
The new principal will be Shane Sagert, who currently Superintendent at Turtle Lake-Mercer High School. He is also the Athletic Director for TLM.
Sagert will begin with a salary of $87,000 plus additional compensation for taking on the duties of athletic director and head golf coach.
Sagert has a bachelor’s degree in education and biological sciences and a master’s degree in education. He also minored in coaching. He started teaching in Lidgerwood in 2000 and Lafayette High School from 2001-06. He became high school principal in Harvey in 2006 and after six years, was elementary principal for another three year. He was named superintendent at TLM in 2016.
