Shannon Erie is the new business manager for the Parshall School District replacing Bernie Jorgenson who resigned a couple of months ago.
Erie comes to Parshall from South Prairie Elementary School near Minot where she remains employed. She will be working in Parshall one or two days a week and will do some of her work out of her home.
“You mean to tell me you can do in two days what it took a week to do before,” asked school board member Karmon Taft. When Erie replied comfortably that three days is ample time to carry out her duties, Taft replied, “You mean to tell me you can do in three days what it took a week to do before?”
Adding a caveat, Erie said three days is ample time under normal circumstances and as she settles into her new position, expects to be working on Saturday and Sunday mornings to get Parshall’s business office back to normalcy.
Board members Michelle Billadeau and board President James Odermann interviewed Erie prior to her being hired. Her first day was Monday.
Billadeau said she is willing to give the split school duty a try. She said all too often people are used to the status quo and in Erie’s situation, it isn’t. But because Erie is willing to try and because she is comfortable with the work load, she is certainly qualified.
